Conexxus works to bring relevant technologies to the convenience and fuel retailing industry. The Conexxus 2022 Annual Conference was held in Tucson, AZ last week and looked to discover, innovate and connect about what suppliers and retailers need to ensure industry growth and continued success.
The Parcelly team attended the event from May 1st to May 5th and attended a variety of networking events, workshops and presentations. The conference provided insightful speakers addressing a variety of innovative topics and was an excellent opportunity for Parcelly to connect with people who are very experienced and knowledgeable in the US convenience store space.
As with many other industries, retail continues to face ongoing changes, challenges and ultimately opportunities. On Day 2 in a session titled ‘Connecting the Customer from Forecourt to the Metaverse’, Kristen Call from Intel addressed the group regarding the need to continue accelerating innovation in convenience stores with edge computing. Post-pandemic times have seen more change to the convenience industry than in the past 20 years! Some of the current challenges in the convenience store space include qualified and available staffing, inflation and continued margin compression. Innovative technologies such as the Mashgin Touchless Self-Checkout Device are helping address current challenges while positioning convenience stores for success in the future.
During our conversations with attendees throughout the conference, all were extremely impressed with the Parcelly business model. Just as the Uber technology transforms cars into taxis, the Parcelly technology transforms unused storage space into Hyper-local Warehousing while providing incremental margin at the store level. All of this is done without additional capital expenditure, cost or staff. The Parcelly business model brings additive value throughout the entire purchasing journey, including online retailers, store owners, carriers and consumers alike. This resonated well during our conversations at the conference. Given the challenges of staffing, inflation and margin compression, the Parcelly business model offers unique solutions such as Hyper-local Warehousing, Returns and Click&Collect to convenience stores during times of change and challenge. Solutions that drive customer footfall, consumer experience and in-store revenue.
"I was pleased to see the genuine interest and hear the positive feedback regarding Parcelly's technology, business model and success to date. Conexxus is an excellent organization and we look forward to forging strong partnerships with them and their members".
