The Parcelly team is back in the office after an insightful day at the IMRG - Peak Connect Conference 2017 hosted at the Cavendish Conference Centre in Marylebone, London. 

Organised by IMRG, the UK’s online retail association that helps members to understand and improve their online retail performance, the event focused on significant changes the Christmas Peak period has undergone in the recent years. The ever-evolving character of Black Friday has been discussed and predictions for what will happen this year have been made - the ultimate goal being helping retailers build a strategy to secure their share of spending during the busiest time of the year.

Our CEO, Sebastian Steinhauser took part in the panel discussion on 'The changing customer', joining relevant companies such as our business partner No Ordinary Suit, as well as Smartbox Group, Barclaycard and Conversant.

The panel discussion concentrated on the way Black Friday has revolutionised the Christmas Peak period in recent years by pulling a huge bulk of sales forward into November. The panel particularly focused on:

• The behavioural trends seen in 2016
• The different customer expectations during peak
• The different kind of shopper around peak
• Techniques for increasing conversion
