Mr. Mohsin, working with you is a real pleasure! Would you mind telling us when you started your business?
I started back in 2014. I just had a huge interest in logistics, so I decided to open a dedicated parcel and warehousing shop to serve the local community and fulfill my passion...

Did you have any logistic industry experience before?
Yes, I had quite a lot of experience working with different companies like DHL, David Turner, UPS and FedEx for export and import logistics.

MailSmart is running Parcelly's warehousing service, can you tell us a bit more about the benefits for you?
I have been managing Mailsmart’s warehouse operations for 3 months now, since the project started for one of Parcelly's clients. There is a range of benefits for us, starting from using my redundant space in the shop to generate additional revenue, to the smooth warehouse management system and ultimately diversifying my business model.

As a director of the shop, I actively sell my space to different companies and services to bring in more business. Naturally I wanted my location to be added to Parcelly's Sharing Economy platform, and allow all different kinds of logistic companies and retailers to use my space and resolve their first or last mile challenges. From my perspective, I have much more business opportunities to earn extra revenue in this way, as my space gets utilised by more clients. And thanks to Parcelly's smart technology and dedicated support from their Business Development team, my warehouse is very well managed and all transactions run super smooth.

You also offer Parcelly's Click&Collect service since last year, are there any stories or insights you would like to share with us?
Yeah I do - we started with the Click&Collect service when first becoming a Parcelly business partner. No funny stories, but a lot of happy and satisfied customers of this parcel collection service... :-)

The team at Mailsmart always try our very best to help each customer. Sometimes they would call in to confirm if we open sharply at 9am for him/her to collect their parcels. Sometimes local customers might call in to ask us if we could stay a bit longer after our closing time, so he/ she could drop by and collect a parcel. And of course, we always try to accommodate their needs.

You created a great Parcelly sticker for the inside of your front door - what prompted you to do this?
Yeah, I really value our partnership with Parcelly. We used to do those black stickers before, and when we were about to renew them, I immediately thought of Parcelly and created this one. We stuck it onto the door handle for everyone to notice our partnership with Parcelly and hopefully get on-board and use the service...

How do you find our app and service in general?
From my perspective, it is super easy to run the service! It only takes around 15-20 minutes to set up thanks to Parcelly's fantastic Business Development team. And the app makes it hassle free, just check in the parcel when it arrives, and check out when it gets collected by the customer. 

If you would give one piece of advice to another shop owner about our mini-warehousing product - what would this be?
It will mainly be being well prepared for each project. When we receive a request for using our space, I need to clearly understand who is the client, how much space they need and what other requirements they may have. If we don’t fully understand these details, it will create a massive operation issue.

But also flexibility for the client so that we can get as many customers as we can, and provide the best service for them.  And I need to be responsible and fulfil all requested operational tasks from Parcelly and its partners, so the project will run smoothly and efficiently.

How does the 'future of logistics' look like to you?
It will be the era of automation and I believe there will be a lot more robots involved in warehouses over the upcoming 10 years. It will be fewer human resources involved or even no one at all! I heard that DHL has just built a high technology warehouse in Birmingham. It seems like there will be many more interesting things going on in the warehouse industry!
