Welcome to Mace, the friendly convenience store located in the heart of Manchester, less than 2 miles away from the University of Manchester and pretty close to many of the city’s main attractions!
Chosen for their amazing customer ratings and neverending parcel flow, Mace has been providing a great Parcelly service since joining our network and we had a fantastic time chatting with Mr. Etiandro and finding out more about him and his shop’s history.
For how long have you been working in this store? And do you know what it was before you took over?
I am the owner of the store since July 2015. It opened back in 2010 and has always been a convenience store - I just changed the name once I took over...
So, are you originally from Manchester?
No, I am actually from Angola, but moved to the UK in 2012. I used to live in Philadelphia in the US, but moved to Manchester because my wife was living here. We were in a long-distance relationship before I decided to move here so I could be closer to my family.
What is your favourite thing about working here?
I really like the idea of running my own business, managing the store and the employees who are all fantastic.
Most important question: Do you support any football clubs in Manchester?
Oh, not Manchester! I really enjoy football and American football too, but no way I would support Manchester. I actually prefer to watch Spain playing, Barcelona of course, it is the only team there right?! I would definitely buy a ticket to watch Barcelona play if they came to Manchester, that would be amazing!

When I heard about it, I thought it was the perfect option for my shop because people have their parcels delivered here and I am able to keep them in my store, in a secure place, until the customers come to pick them up.
